Stack ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Stack mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App. By using Stack, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information you provide
- Account information such as your name and email address (if you create an account or sign in).
- Health and protocol data you enter, including peptide and medication names, doses, schedules, injection sites, vial information, weight, progress notes, side effects, and progress photos.
- Meal photos you choose to scan and the resulting nutrition estimates.
- Messages you send to the in-app AI assistant.
b) Information from Apple Health (HealthKit)
- With your explicit permission, the App reads metrics such as weight, BMI, heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, steps, active energy, blood pressure, respiratory rate, body composition, and VO2 max.
- This data is used only to display your progress within the App. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, and we never sell it. You can revoke access at any time in the iOS Settings or Health app.
c) Information collected automatically
- Basic device and usage information (such as app version, device type, and crash diagnostics) used to operate and improve the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's features (logging, scheduling, tracking, and progress views).
- Process meal-scan and AI assistant requests.
- Sync and display Apple Health metrics you authorize.
- Improve performance, fix issues, and develop new features.
- Communicate with you about support requests and important updates.
3. AI and Meal-Scan Processing
When you use the meal-scan or AI assistant features, the relevant content (such as a meal photo or your message, along with limited protocol context) is sent securely to our backend, which relays it to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a response. This data is processed to provide the feature and is not used to identify you for advertising.
4. How Your Data Is Stored
Your protocol and health data are primarily stored on your device. If you create an account, certain data may be securely synced to and stored with our service providers to enable backup and multi-device access. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers who process data on our behalf (such as cloud hosting and AI processing), under confidentiality obligations.
- When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- To protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or others.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. You may delete your data from within the App, and you may request deletion of any account-linked data by contacting us.
7. Your California Privacy Rights
Stack operates in California and complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"). As a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the business or commercial purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Limit the use and disclosure of any sensitive personal information we collect to the purposes you have authorized.
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights — we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your rights.

8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Health Disclaimer
Stack is a record-keeping and organizational tool for informational purposes only. It does not provide medical advice and is not a substitute for professional medical care.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
